Hunting Awareness When Enjoying the Open Space in High Bridge
Please keep in mind that High Bridge has open space properties in which hunting is a permitted activity; these areas are:
- Nassau Road area
- Springside Farms
- Jericho Road
- Lake Solitude area ( for duck hunting)

High Bridge Open Spaces
High Bridge offers its residents a plethora of open space and outdoor recreation areas to enjoy. Some of these include:
- The Columbia Trail
- The Commons on the Wye Park
- Lake Solitude Falls
- Main Street Mini-Park
- The Nassau Trails
- South Branch of the Raritan River and Ken Lockwood Gorge
- Springside Farm
- The Taylor SteelWorkers Historic Greenway
Residents and visitors alike have many places to enjoy “the great outdoors” in High Bridge.
Reminder: Dumping of yard debris, construction waste and all other materials as well as the harvesting of firewood (from either standing or fallen trees) is strictly prohibited on all Borough-owned Open Space.
The Borough and the High Bridge Environmental Committee are requesting your assistance in keeping the Borough’s Open Space clean, free of debris and wooded by reporting any observed violations directly to the High Bridge Police Department on 908.638.6500.
Tip – Hunters wear orange so should you when in these designated wildlife management areas.
The Environmental Commission would like to remind everyone that hunting season begins in September. While New Jersey has an extremely low incidence of hunting-related accidents, please keep in mind that High Bridge has open space properties in which hunting is a permitted activity. The following properties have been designated Borough Wildlife Management Areas hunting by permit only: only bow hunting is allowed

The Dewey Avenue Property; Block 31 Lot 14.02; Acres 44.3;
The Pfauth Property; Block 19 Lots 68 & 32; Acres 46.11;
The Springside Farm Property; Block 40 Lot 4; Acres 36.54;
The Nassau Property; Block 37 & 40 Lots 1 & 2; Acres 82.66;

Deer hunting season runs from September through February. During the season there will be “No deer hunting permitted on Sundays”. Permits may be picked up at the Clerk’s office during regular office hours.
