Pooch Parade

2016 Sponsorship Forms

REGISTRATION: 9am ~ PARADE: 10am; $5 per dog (Please bring exact change.)
(rain date Sunday, June 19 at the same times)



A High Bridge tradition, this year’s Pooch Parade theme is “Dogs at the Movies.” Costumes can be ANYTHING to do with movies, i.e. famous movie stars, famous animals in movies, famous directors, snacks found at movie theater concession stands, movie cameras, etc. Let your imagination run wild! Pooches are encouraged to put on their favorite costume and get their owners to compete for prizes in several different categories. Bring the whole family for this fun-filled event!

This year’s prize categories are:

  • Best Small Dog Costume
  • Best Medium Dog Costume
  • Best Large Dog Costume
  • Silliest Costume
  • Most Creative Costume
  • Best Movie Snack Costume
  • Poshest Pup
  • Best Supporting Role (Runner Up, Adult-Ages 13 and older)
  • Best Supporting Role (Runner Up, Child-Ages 12 and under)
  • And the Winner Is….Adult (1st Place) Ages 13 and older
  • And the Winner Is….Child (1st Place) Ages 12 and under

All category winner will receive canvas canine goodie bags sporting the 2016 Pooch Parade logo filled with canine treats, toys and prizes.
All entrants will receive a complimentary 2016 Pooch Parade t-shirt (sizes may be limited so arrive early). Only registered dogs can participate in the parade. Please note that although High Bridge appreciates all types of pets, for the safety of participants, the Parade must adhere to a “Pooches Only” policy. Dress up your pooch, dress up yourself or just come out and watch the Parade.

* Please bring a bagged or canned food donation for Animeals.

The 2015 theme was “Anything Goes”.

 2013 Pooch Parade

The 2013 Pooch Parade was held June 15. In its 18th year, the 2013 High Bridge Pooch Parade with its theme of “Fairy Tails,” sponsored by the High Bridge Events Committee, drew 48 dogs entered with participants from Annandale, Califon, Chester, Clinton, Frenchtown, Glen Gardner, High Bridge, Lebanon Township, Phillipsburg, Pittstown, and Whitehouse Station. We thank all participants who came out and made last year’s parade a huge success.

The winners were:
Best Small Dog: Mimi, a Pomeranian, and Prego, a Pekinese mix, as “Princess & Prego the Pirate”
Best Medium Dog: Bennie, a Pomeranian, as “Sleeping Beauty”
Best Large Dog: Zeke, a Newfoundland, as “Tinkerbell”
Best Team Costume: Tugboat & Anchor, Newfoundlands, and Lilly & Shea, Golden Retrievers as “The Mad Hatters Tea Party”
Silliest Costume: Kirby, a Chocolate Lab, as “Cow That Jumped Over the Moon”
Most Creative Costume: Rusty, a Jack Russell mix, and Liesl, a Yorkie mix as “Hansel & Gretel”

2011 Pooch Parade Results

The 17th annual High Bridge Pooch Parade, themed “A Day at the Beach/Fun in the Sun,” drew 55 dogs with participants from High Bridge, Annandale, Califon, Clinton, Frenchtown, Garwood, Glen Gardner, Middlesex, Newton, Phillipsburg, Pittstown, Whitehouse Station, and even as far away as Bangor and Marshall’s Creek, Pennsylvania. We thank all the participants for coming out and making the 2011 parade a huge success.
