March 2009
On Saturday, March 21, The Environmental Committee held their second annual Electronics Recycling Day. Thank you for helping the EC to have another successful electronics recycling event! 457 vehicles came through from 9 am - 1 pm. That is representing half of the homes in High Bridge and over 10% of our total population!
Even from a distance, you can tell the Environmental Committee had many borough residents come out and recycle!
They not only filled this 52' truck, but also a box truck as well!
Thank you residents of High Bridge for making this recycling event a success! There were even 29 donations of bicycles for Pedals for Progress, as well as 5 sewing machines! Great job!
Congratulations to Girl Scout Troop 243
The HB Environmental Commission submitted troop 243’s Bronze award project: “The High Bridge Open Space Brochure and Web Link” to the 18th annual Hunterdon County Planning & Design Award Competition. We are excited to announce that their project won the Freeholder’s Community Service Award! This award recognizes projects that are an outstanding planning effort where a key element involves public and private sector partnering to move a project forward.
