Woodland Terrace residents welcomed home North Hunterdon Youth Baseball 12U players, Nolan Banach and Ian Carlson from the Cooperstown Tournament. Since 2014, North Hunterdon Youth Baseball and Softball has been providing the opportunity to the 12 year old boys select team members to play a memorable tournament in Cooperstown, New York – the birth place of baseball. This week-long tournament features over 100 of the best teams from across the nation. It is a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience for all. With the odds stacked against them, NHYB went 6-0 in pool play and earned a 7 seed out of 104 teams, beating teams from TX, MO, OH, CO, CA and MA, which is unheard of for a league team. The boys went on to the playoffs putting themselves 3 outs away from the final four. Unfortunately, they came up a little short but finished 5th out of 104 of the best teams across the country. A truly amazing accomplishment for a league team!
