Councilwoman Lynn Hughes was born, raised and continues to live in High Bridge. She is part of the Cregar Family, which was one of the founding families of High Bridge. She is married to Craig Hughes, who is an instrumental music teacher in the Bridgewater Raritan School District and organist at the Annandale Reformed Church.
Councilwoman Hughes is a graduate of the High Bridge School system and Glassboro State (now Rowan University) in Glassboro, New Jersey with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master in the Art of Teaching degree from Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan. She is a teacher at High Bridge Elementary School where she also serves as Advisor of the Environmental Club and the Authors’ Club.

Councilwoman Hughes has a passion for the environment and serves as the Borough Council Liaison to the Environmental Commission.
