Water main break – Dewey Ave. – Boil water advisory lifted – Updated 02-04-2019
The Borough received the results of the water test from last week’s water main break Dewey Avenue this afternoon. We are pleased to say that the test results are negative and that no further action is required.
The boil water advisory is hereby lifted effective immediately.
If you have any questions please call Borough Hall at 908-638-6455 during regular business hours or Borough Administrator Michael Pappas at 908-798-0364 after hours.
The Borough DPW has been working to repair the water main break since this morning. The repair is nearing completion but, due to the nature of the break, a section of the water line must be shut off, which will mean water service will be interrupted for a period of time. The repair is expected to be completed tonight with complete service restoration.
The Borough recommends that residents experiencing any water discoloration to run the water in their bathtub until it appears to flow clearly. The Borough will have the water tested and announce the results when received. In the meantime, residents in the Dewey Avenue area are advised to boil water for any water that is consumed. Updated NJDEP boil water advisory procedures will be forwarded and posted on the Borough web site.
