Last October, the Borough received notification that it had been issued a grant for the reconstruction of McDonald Street from the NJ Department of Transportation. The amount of the grant award is $225,000.00.
On March 7, 2019, an advertisement seeking bids was published in the official Borough newspaper with a submission deadline in early April.
“Depending upon the bids received, the Borough Council will hopefully be able to award the bid at the April 11th Council meeting and get this project underway,” said Council President Chris Zappa, chairman of the Council Public Works Committee.
“McDonald Street is one of the most traveled roads in High Bridge so having this project move forward is good news for our community,” said Mayor Michele Lee.
If the bids received are acceptable and the project is awarded in April, construction could take place within months.
